Theft

The amount of work that goes into a quality skin boggles my mind, I can't even fathom it. This morning I log in to find Mo at a protest, so to speak. The other night we had gone to Minnu Model skins and he bought one of the G3 male skins for his avatar (drool). Well, there is a shop out there that has ripped those skins off and is selling them. What proof do I have?

[8:32] You: hi Minnu
[8:32] Minnu Palen: hello
[8:32] Helianthus Mesmer: hello Minnu
[8:32] You: this shop selling your skins?
[8:32] Minnu Palen: rezzing still
[8:32] Minnu Palen: yes it does
[8:32] You: ok

That's all the proof I need. Maybe you are thinking, no big deal, well if you are a fan of Minnu Model skins you might wanna dig this:

[8:34] Mopsa Soon: on a positive note, Minnu, I just got a new skin from your shop two days ago and it drives the ladies wild. so I owe you a hug and a drink.
[8:34] Minnu Palen: haha
[8:34] Minnu Palen: ty
[8:34] Minnu Palen: well enjoy it couse im not doing anymore skins
[8:34] Minnu Palen: unless LL do something
[8:35] Minnu Palen: im having this issues twice a week

The shop in question is MaFya Body Shopping owned by Bonnie Arado. You can come join the protest and get you a sign here, make sure your voice is heard and support content creators in Second Life.

Update!

The thief arrived:
[9:21] You: wellie well well
[9:21] You: hello Bonnie
[9:21] Hannah Irvine: We should IM her with the words "thief"
[9:22] Hannah Irvine: her/ him whatever
[9:22] Hern Worsley: The Abyss skins are here too and i dont think the creator of those is somone to mess with like this i get the feeling they would take legal action

[9:24] IM: Mopsa Soon: but this should be good
[9:24] Bonnie Arado: go to work
[9:24] Pippistrello Bonetto: haha
[9:24] You: delete your store first

I wonder how long it will be before Minnu drops this claim and opens a second sim...

Something must have worked as Donohue/216/126/36 is now an empty lot

I had to go real life, but from what I understand a Linden got involved and the shop was deleted. Yay us!

Well, another shop is open under the name of Neo Body Fashion. There's been a demonstration there, and at a kiosk store, rented from the same group. They are determined and messing with multiple skin makers' work.

I was there! Or at leas at one of the places, (maybe Marwood) there was a lot going on. Bonnie2Alado showed up and I point blank asked "why do you steal" and s/he told me it's to make money.

I wanted to get more details but s/he started spamming chat with profanity laden statements and so I muted bonnie2 for my sanity.

I'm still new to Second Life and don't know all the rules, I know that this conversation happened in private IM so I didn't save it becuase copying and pasting something like that without permission is against the rules and taken very seriously. But it's slightly upsetting to me to think that LL would take the c&p of an private IM more seriously & perhaps act more quickly than the blatant theft of content. Especially when the thief (or one thief) publiclly states that s/he and his/her wife stole the skins and no one, not even LL can stop them.
